Re: Lesson #1
Gomen nasai, but could you explain me what polite means? Like thank you (polite)?
Arigatou.

Oh dear, now everyone will start saying arigatou. XD
Eettoooo
Ok. Oolite means. Well. polite! XD
No ok, it's like 'informal' and 'formal'.
You, for example, say 'arigatou' to a friend, but you'll say 'arigatou gozaimasu' to your teacher, or somebody you have deep respect for. ^_^
Polite means in dutch = beleefd
But I've tried to explain it in English as well, so that we won't have English people saying: I don't get it either. XD

You're welcome, glad you understand. Please read your PM. I'm curious about what you've done to the ranks.
Re: Lesson #1
Arigatou gozaimasu for this lesson, Nyuka-sensei!
However, I still can't speak out a few words. Therefore, I have some questions for you.
Is sayounara pronounced as sajioenaraa or as sajoúnaraa or as sajounará?
And then the next word I can't speak out: gozaimasu. Is it like: gosaiimassoe? (With an sharp s, I mean.)
And: Dou itashi-mashite (Say: doietasjimasjteh. XD) is still very difficult for me. Especially the "sji" part. Should I say it like "tchi" or like "sji"?
And uhm, then my next question. You said the sentence my name is... is this: watashi wa [fill in name] desu. But can't it also be orewa...? Because that is something I remember from Death Note, Yagami Light said to Misa: Orewa Kira. Lol, most likely I am mistaken, though.
Oh, and if it's possible, could you then also spend a lesson to the words after a persons name and how to use them? I am talking about chan, san, sensei, sama, etc.

Re: Lesson #1
So many questions. Luckily I can answer all of them.
Pronunciation:
Sayounara: sa-jo-na-ra
Gozaimasu: go-zai-mass There is a u at the end of the word, but it's not very hearable. It's like you say a double s. A double s almost sounds like a u, therefor -mass at the end.
Dou itashi-mashite: do-itashi-mash-teh. This might help you more. It's defenitely not a ''tchi'' that would become: do-itatchi-matchi-teh, that's not right. If you still don't get it, please look for me at school.
Death note:
That's a very good question, since you're a girl you can't. Men/boys say I with ore, that's why he says orewa. Girls say I with boku, so it become bokuwa.
Little children often use boku because it held some sort of cuteness to it, that's why you'll hear little boys, or (in Furuba) Momiji for example, say bokuwa. Momiji is a very 'cute' boy, so he uses boku as well.
About that lesson:
I believe I asked for such requests to be placed in the introdiction-topic, but that's fine. Sure I'll spend the next lesson on it if you want.

Gomen nasai, Nyuka-sensei. *bows* Next time I'll place it in the introduction topic.
I understand now everything, except dou itashi-mashite. I still have troubles with speaking it out. T.T

Re: Lesson #1
Hmm.. Let's see, I will try to explain it one more time, but if that doesn't work come look me up and I'll say it once. ^_^
It's too bad I don't have any equipment to record it, because if I did, then it would be so much easier. XD
Ok. Let's see: -Lees het zoals je het in het nederlands zou doen. XD-
Dou itashi-mashite: dò-ietasji-mash-tè?
XD
